It’s official, folks. John Tavares watch is over; sound the alarms.
After days of speculation, Tavares selected one team from his list of six, and decided he no longer wants to be an Islander.
John Tavares is a Toronto Maple Leaf.
Tavares is returning to his hometown of a Toronto for a 7-year, $11 million/year contract. Toronto has been one of the youngest and hottest teams in the NHL since drafting Auston Matthews, William Nylander, and Mitch Marner. Adding Tavares is only going to add to their talent. Simply put, the Leafs are going to be a wagon for many years to come.
Of course Tavares waited until I was sitting poolside on this beautiful Sunday to break his news, but such is the blogging life. With that said, I’ll end the blog now so I can get back to the pool and Tavares can get his shit packed for Toronto.
